Hygienist

This practice is an entirely NHS practice. By this we mean that we do not register private patients on principle. . All clinically necessary treatment will be offered to patients on the NHS.

The Government increases prices annually. A written estimate/treatment plan will be provided before treatment commences (at your initial consultation). Treatment plans may change.

NHS PRICE LIST FROM 1st April 2008

Band 1. Diagnosis, treatment planning And maintenance
Clinical examination, radiographs, scale and polishing by dentist if clinically necessary only, preventive work: e.g. oral health assessment, study models, denture eases £16.20


Band 2. Treatment
Simple treatment e.g. fillings including root canal therapy, extractions, surgical procedures and dental additions, periodontal treatment (hygienist) £44.60


Band 3. Provision of appliances
Complex treatment that includes a laboratory element: e.g. bridgework, crowns and dentures, excludes mouth guards £198.00


Band 4(emergencies only) Urgent treatment.
Assessment, radiographs, dressings. One of the following:- Re-cementing crowns, up to two extractions if possible (if no infection) and one filling £16.20


Band 5 Free treatment.
Issue of prescription, repair of denture, repair of bridge, removal of sutures and arrest of bleeding No Charge


Replacement of lost/damaged dentures
Chargeable, upper and lower dentures count as one charge each £59.40


As we do not charge for missed appointments or late cancellations for NHS work, if you fail to cancel an appointment without 24 hours notice TWICE (8 working hours notice so you would be expected to cancel a Monday early morning appointment by Friday lunchtime) we will no longer treat you. However we do charge for missed appointments for private treatment e.g. private hygienist – full cost.
Treatment that is not clinically necessary will be made available to patients who request it as a private treatment, e.g. white crowns on molars. The following prices are an APPROXIMATE guide. A full estimate and treatment plan will be given to you in writing before treatment commences (at your initial consultation)

White filling side or back tooth including Direct composite onlay/inlay £47 - £100

Crown on back tooth (white) £300.00

As above with a post (to hold crown in place) £375.00

Treatment plans may vary as treatment continues. In these cases new estimates will be provided in writing to the patient and you will be informed by the dentist of the alterations. This may be whilst you are in the surgery. If you are unsure of anything at any time, please ask your dentist, nurse or reception for more information.
