Patients are often concerned that treatment within the NHS will be inferior to private dentistry. We cannot speak for other practices but we can inform our patients of the choices we make at NHS DENTIST.

We choose to use laboratories which produce well-fitting and colour matched crowns, dentures and bridgework. These laboratories are not owned by us so we are free to move our business at any time should the standards ever drop. We pay up to 50% more for our laboratory work than we need to but we believe the benefits are clear. Less time for fitting, better colour matches to a patient’s own teeth and improved comfort.

You will be asked to choose the colour of your new teeth from a colour guide, with the help of your dentist.

The materials we use would normally be used in private dentistry. There are cheaper alternatives but we choose not to use them.. Again, the end results are longer lasting and the time spent in the chair is lessened. It did not come as a surprise to us that patients preferred to spend less rather than more time in the dentist’s chair!
