Dr. Amirhossein Barfeie, known as Afshin, graduated from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Iran, one of the country’s most prestigious and competitive dental schools. Following his graduation, he practised dentistry in Iran for nearly four years before relocating to the UK in 2022.

In the UK, Afshin initially worked as a dental therapist in private practice, focusing on oral health maintenance and restorative treatments such as white fillings. In 2024, he successfully completed all his UK registration exams — passing each stage on the first attempt — and began practising as a dentist in private practice.

Although he enjoyed delivering high-quality private treatments, Afshin felt private dentistry limited his ability to reach a wider range of patients. Motivated by a desire to give back more broadly, he chose to join the NHS, where he could combine his clinical expertise with a stronger sense of service to the community.

His clinical interests include:

• Orthodontics – Afshin holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Orthodontics and has a particular enthusiasm for clear aligners (Invisalign) to enhance smiles, bite function, and oral health.
• Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry – with a strong focus on natural-looking composite fillings that restore both function and beauty.
• Composite Bonding – delivering seamless, natural results for worn, chipped, or uneven teeth to help patients regain confidence in their smiles.

Outside of dentistry, Afshin enjoys hiking, cycling, advanced yoga practice, and painting watercolours. He believes these creative and mindful pursuits bring balance to his life and positively influence his work.

Above all, Afshin is committed to providing gentle, kind, and comfortable dental care. He takes particular pride in supporting anxious patients, helping them feel more at ease and confident when visiting the dentist.
